From the first day of 2026, I decided that I would publish one field recording per day throughout the year on Aporee Radio, focusing primarily on field recordings made in the Tatra Mountains, both Polish and Slovakian.

Journalism is currently a side activity for me; I write occasionally, mostly on topics related to sound and music. You might be surprised, then, to see an interview I conducted in the summer of 2025 published in Miasteczko Poznań, a magazine devoted to Jewish culture and heritage. Let me explain (Polish only):

Film „Kumotry” / „Double Trouble”

On 6 December 2025, the film „Kumotry”, directed by Emilia Śniegoska, will have its Polish premiere at the Watch Dogs documentary film festival in Warsaw. I had the pleasure of contributing to this film by recording and editing its soundscapes.

Crown snow-load and thaw

Ever since I heard a quiet sound a few years ago, I have been obsessed with snow falling from trees. Back then, in the Sucha Woda Valley, the sun came out the day after heavy snowfall. The temperature caused the snow to fall from the trees, which had a particularly interesting effect when the mass of snow hit the dry spruce branches on its way down, creating a micro-sound in the air, somewhere between percussion and kalimba.

On 30 November 2025 at 6 p.m., the Laboratory at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle will host a presentation of field recordings made by Magda Ter, Tomek Mirt and myself. The event will be hosted by Filip Szałasek. Admission is free.

Concert of field recordings 3: Wabik / Wirmański / Niewiadomska

On 13 September 2025 at 7 p.m. at Spółdzielnia Ogniwo, ul. Smolki 11a in Krakow, I will be playing live as part of the ‘Koncert (z) nagrań terenowych’ (Concert (from) field recordings) series. I will be performing on stage with Asia Wabik and Roksza Niewiadomska.

Futurofonia Festival

During the event, I will present two experimental radio plays, take part in a panel discussion on small publishing houses, and participate in a small publishers’ fair.

Dzwony, dzwonki, dzwoneczki / Huge bells, small bells, little bells

On 13 June 2025, at the Krakow Cultural Centre, as part of the “Wydźwięki” series, I will play a programme entitled Huge bells, small bells, little bells” based on the field recording work I do in the Podhale region.

Fantazja

Some time ago I’ve fantasized about recording delicate sounds of falling snow. I’ve been waiting for proper weather conditions. One night snow started to fall. I told my wife „I go out’ and I went.

MUSIC OF THE PLACE – Sejny

In August this year, at the invitation of the Borderland Center in Sejny, I took part in co-creating a sound map of Sejny – a town located in the Suwałki region. During my week-long stay, I explored the sound atmosphere of the place by recording the audio phenomena I encountered. I also had the pleasure of conducting a sound walk and field recording workshops.

Sanacja

On September 17, 2024, on the anniversary of the USSR’s attack on Poland and the anniversary of the escape of the Polish government and commander-in-chief in the face of aggression by Germany, the Soviet Union and the Slovak puppet state, I published recordings entitled collectively titled „Sanacja”.
