Workshops

1. How works of art sound – workshops for children aged 6 to 14 in sound art.

The workshops include playing with synthesizers, effectors, and traditional instruments from which children can produce sounds using non-obvious methods. We will play using various sound media – gramophone records, tapes, CDs. Using a sampler, we can record strange, funny, surprising sounds and create a collective composition or improvisation. Let’s listen to what water sounds like in pipes, electricity in wires, data sent and received by the server room, and maybe we will build our own microphone!

The workshop group: maximum of 12 people. Duration up to 1.5 hours.

2. Field recordings workshops

Workshops intended beginners , as well as for intermediate users. During the training, we will learn basic terms, equipment and recording techniques. After the presentation, we go out into the field to record sounds. Workshops can be extended with sound edition of field recordings using free software. Workshops can be introduced in cycles.

The workshop: maximum of 12 people. Participants’ age from 14 y.o. Training duration: theoretical part 2 hours, practical part 2 hours.

3. Sound walk

A sound walk is a special way to experience your own sound environment and sound surrounding. While walking we will be using methods created by Pauline Oliveros, Hildegard Westerkamp or Raymond Murray Schafer as well as our own intuition. First of all, we will wander, listen, talk, feel, and analyze soundscapes around us and inside us. Equipment is not necessary to perform a sound walk.

The sound walk: maximum of 12 people.
