Łukasz Suchy, “Rzeszów-Wrocław”

Liner notes from the author: „Recordings were made around 2019-2020 in cracks and hollows between the urban fabrics. Places where small animals live. My humble goal was to portray these places rather than the animals themselves. To hear like the city might sound from a perspective of a mouse, or a bat, a bird or even a fish. Their small habitats tend to aggregate sounds from much larger surroundings forming what I call “accidental sound sculptures”. This idea was my compass for a couple of months, leading me to completely unknown places in two cities I’d grown up and have been living for years.

Cities are full of creatures whether we like it or not. I hope we like it. I hope they like it too.”

Łukasz Suchy is a field recordist who values curiosity over judgement, efforts over effects and intuition over intellect. Listener who looks for melodies where no music is playing and rhythms among uncoordinated events. Searcher for situations without common purpose creating new meanings when blended and filtered through hearing apparatus.

Rookie birdwatcher and photographer who treasures his rookines.

Founder of Suche Fakty – half moniker/half net labet orbiting around field recordings. He likes to think of himself as a curator selecting places and events rather than artists and creating new contexts to bring them to public hearing.
