Bartek Kalinka, “Telepajęczarstwo”

Hella a lot of synths – from distorted basslines through atonal ornaments to a sound of artificial flute. Acoustic guitar adds obscure atmosphere. DIY drums made of boxes and cymbals placed on drum sticks. Establishing motifs with slow, multilayered loops. Rhythm is free.

Bartek Kalinka is best known as one of the most significant figures of Polish independent music, especially of his noise works (2000-2010). Meanwhile he managed to express himself creatively using modular synths and an acoustic guitar – in between free, experimental form, studies on melody and pastiche. This style was present on albums released by labels Bołt and BDTA (2013), and has been continued on Kalinka’s 2019 „Subpolar hilarity”. „Telepajęczarstwo” follows the same path and develops it.
