On May 21, Szara Reneta released its latest cassette, “Leptorspiroza” by Bartłomiej Talaga and Aleksandra Kubisa. This is the 56th release in the label’s catalog.
The soundtrack for Aleksandra Kubisa’s animated film was recorded at the Academy of Music in Łódź during a single-day, improvised session lasting several hours, led by Bartłomiej Talaga and in the presence of Aleksandra Kubisa. Individual sound layers were recorded live, each time directly in sync with the animation. Thanks to this, the soundtrack organically permeates the animation layer. The dialogue between image and sound reveals the darkest and most primal aspects of humanity. THE RECORDINGS GUIDE US THROUGH PARALLEL WORLDS OF THE ILLNESSES OF LIVING BEINGS. THE SOUNDS, along with their progression and resonance, CONVEY THE RELENTLESS CLASH BETWEEN CORPUS AND ANIMA, the exhausted animal body that, despite everything, strives for integration.
Bartłomiej Talaga – Audiovisual artist. He performs live and creates within the realm of intuitive, freely improvised, and concrete music. He enriches his electronic music setup with the acoustic landscapes of richly resonant instruments. He is interested in the relaxing and meditative role of sound, which, like no other medium, allows one to peer into one’s inner well.
Aleksandra Kubisa – animation and documentary director, graphic designer. Currently a student of animation at the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television, and Theater in Łódź. She also studied printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. She creates graphic art and original movie posters.
